Sean Bennett and Brady Haley certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Bennett rushed for 81 yards and one TD on only 11 carries, while Haley rushed for 68 yards and one score on only nine carries. Gatewood is 2-1 when Bennett posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-4 otherwise.
It was another big night for Cutler Fleming, who rushed for 188 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 139 yards and a pair of TDs for Briarwood Academy. Those 188 rushing yards gave Fleming a new career-high.
