Baseball Recap: Skyline Beats Shelley for Their Fourth Straight Win

Skyline came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Shelley Russets with a sharp 9-1 win. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

John Giannini tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Izaak Hansen was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Jones, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Skyline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shelley only posted an OBP of .185.

Skyline's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Shelley, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Skyline will be playing in front of their home fans against Bonneville at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bees will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something the Grizzlies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Shelley, they will take on Jerome at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
