West Catholic is on a five-game streak of home losses, the Crusaders a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The West Catholic Burrs will take on the Lansdale Catholic Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
West Catholic pushed their score all the way to 61 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-61 to St. Joseph's Prep. While losing is never fun, West Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Hawks are ranked eighth).
Despite their defeat, West Catholic saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kingston Wheatley, who scored 16 points along with four blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Micah Waters JR was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-36, which was the final score in Lansdale Catholic's tilt against the Explorers on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lansdale Catholic in their matchups with the Explorers: they've now lost six in a row.

Everything came up roses for West Catholic against the Crusaders in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 69-35 victory. Will West Catholic repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
