It was a good run, but the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 63-35 loss at the hands of Western. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tippecanoe Valley has scored all season.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucy Hayden, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Egolf, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Western's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mackenzie York, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The game was York's third in a row with at least ten points. Kayleigh Turner was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds.
Tippecanoe Valley's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Western, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Tippecanoe Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against University on December 23rd. University will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Tippecanoe Valley is ranked 28th). Western won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Covenant Christian on December 23rd. Covenant Christian is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
