Meanwhile, Perry County Central suffered their closest loss since May 20, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Spencer County by a score of 6-4. The Commodores have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Perry County Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Watts, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Belfry's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Perry County Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.
Both Belfry and Perry County Central just can't seem to miss. The Pirates have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Perry County Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits.
