Jackson Heights got a massive performance out of Taylor Bosley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Bosley a new career-high. Layla Cochran was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Jackson Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in 11 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McLouth). They blew past Horton 17-2 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly 15 runs.
Maddie Turner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Turner was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. Turner is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Abby Patz was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amora Cheek, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
McLouth's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Jackson Heights, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Jackson Heights hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like McLouth struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Jackson Heights might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from McLouth in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Cobras have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
