Baseball Recap: Friday's Win Is St. Aloysius' Seventh in Last Eight Outings

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but St. Aloysius ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Adams County Christian Rebels 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Flashes have posted since March 12, 2024.

Keller Bradley was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 7.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. He is becoming a predictor of St. Aloysius' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, St. Aloysius got a massive performance out of Laken Bradley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Bradley is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Carson Smith was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

St. Aloysius kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive matches.

St. Aloysius has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Adams County Christian and nudges their season record down to 9-4.
