Brandon Payne was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Millington Central's points. Another player making a difference was Andre Tyler, who scored 11 points.
The win got Millington Central back to even at 12-12. As for Brighton, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-16.
Millington Central will take on the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brighton, they will look to defend their home court against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Millington Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully the Cardinals like a good challenge.
