Blake Hansen was his usual excellent self, shooting 6-for-9 from deep and dropping a double-double with 25 points and ten boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Easton Lott, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine steals.
Despite the defeat, Vallivue had strong showings from Victor Gutierrez, who went 7-for-8 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points, and Xander Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Gutierrez now owns an excellent 45.2% three-point shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Mitchell, who had six points and three steals.
Columbia's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Vallivue, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-12.
Looking ahead, Columbia will take on Middleton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Columbia knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Middleton likes a good challenge. Vallivue does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
