Cape Elizabeth and York are an even 5-5 against one another  since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Cape Elizabeth Capers will be playing in front of their home fans against the York Wildcats at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
 Cape Elizabeth took a loss when they played away from home  on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Mt. Ararat  a   1-0 shutout. Despite the  win, that was the fewest  runs Cape Elizabeth has scored all year.
 Cape Elizabeth's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Gabe Harmon, who  went 1-for-4 with a  stolen base.
 Meanwhile, York had just enough and edged Wells out  2-1 on Monday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for York.
  Brody Gullison made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. Gullison was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times he's  played.
 Cape Elizabeth's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 4-1. As for York, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-1.
 Cape Elizabeth beat York 4-1  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023. Does  Cape Elizabeth have another victory up their sleeve, or will York turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
