The Oakmont Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Fighting Zebras at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Oakmont came out on top against Cordova on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Vikings blew past the Lancers 12-2. Considering the Vikings have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Oakmont got a massive performance out of Addison Turner, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Turner is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloe Gomes, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Oakmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cordova only posted a batting average of .318.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln). They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over Mira Loma on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Mia Maldonado was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, six RBI, and three doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Drew Hamilton was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Oakmont has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Lincoln, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-17.
Everything went Oakmont's way against Lincoln in their previous matchup back in April, as Oakmont made off with a 7-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
