The Twin Lakes Indians will take on the Rossville Hornets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Twin Lakes' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Benton Central. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Mason Brummett was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Twin Lakes' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Carson Wagner, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Twin Lakes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Rossville and Carroll had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Hornets narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cougars 5-4. The game was the first time the Hornets have beaten the Cougars on their field since May 22, 2021.
Rossville also got a great performance from AJ Kelley as he struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Kelley a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Andrew Woolen was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
Rossville pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Twin Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Both Twin Lakes and Rossville just can't seem to miss. The Indians have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Rossville struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Twin Lakes was able to grind out a solid win over Rossville when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 8-4. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
