Attica lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zoie Redgate, who posted 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Redgate has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 31 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Liberty Swingle, who had nine points and three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bucklin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emmy Kirk, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists. Those ten assists gave Kirk a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karlee Evans, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and six steals.
Attica's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for Bucklin, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Attica will head out to face off against Central Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bucklin, they will venture away from home to take on South Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
