Highlands has gone a perfect 7-0 against Boone County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Bluebirds will venture away from home to square off against the Rebels at 5:00 p.m. Highlands' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Boone County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Friday, Highlands had just enough and edged out Dixie Heights 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Bluebirds in their matchups with the Colonels: they've now won three in a row.

Garrett Wiggins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Nolan Schwalbach was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run was his first of the season.
Boone County came out on top against Holmes on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Rebels put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rebels.
Boone County also let their pitcher toss all six innings played and he was also dialed-in: Trent Wilson gave up only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. Wilson is becoming a predictor of the Rebels' success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-13 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ayden Kays, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Rossi, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
Boone County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Highlands' record now sits at 19-9-2. As for Boone County, their record is now 5-14.
Boone County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Highlands hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for Boone County, though, as they've only averaged .234. Will they be able to contain Highlands' hitters?
Highlands took their win against Boone County in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bluebirds since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
