You might not recognize the power rankings this week after a busy last week rearranged the teams a whole lot. The action included a dizzyingly high 113-point combined score from Nordonia and North Royalton.
Welcome
The power rankings welcomes a newcomer to the scene as Jackson earned the 23rd spot after its strong showing last week. It put the hurt on Green with a conclusive 42 - 7 victory. At 35 points, that marked Jackson's largest margin of victory so far this year.
Can't Touch This
Nordonia got a 63 - 50 win over North Royalton last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Robby Levak. Levak threw for 391 yards and four touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Levak as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between Mentor (1st in the power rankings) and Euclid (6th) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. Mentor took its game against Euclid by a confident 30 - 7 score. Mentor gave the Euclid offensive line some real trouble with six sacks (and will no doubt be looking to keep the pressure on Elyria this Friday).
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between McKinley (9th in the power rankings) and Washington (2nd). Washington will be strutting in after a win while McKinley will be stumbling in from a defeat. McKinley has never lost back-to-back this season, but Washington hopes to show it that there is a first time for everything.
