It was a good run, but the Apple Valley Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Lakeville North, falling 83-48. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Apple Valley in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zach Nhial, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nhial has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Trey Parker, who scored 13 points.
Apple Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Lakeville North, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apple Valley will square off against the Lakers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Minnesota (Minneapolis Southwest is ranked 50th, while the Eagles are ranked 64th). As for Lakeville North, they will head out on the road to face off against the Sabers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shakopee has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,234 points over their last 16 contests.
