The Northeastern Clinton Cougars were the 50-48 winner over the Beekmantown Eagles when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Northeastern Clinton was dealt a 79-46 defeat at the hands of Beekmantown on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northeastern Clinton has scored all season.
Northeastern Clinton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Brown, who scored 16 points. Brown scored a full 34.8% of Northeastern Clinton's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Max Rabideau was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Northeastern Clinton now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Beekmantown, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeastern Clinton will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Heuvelton Central at 7:30 p.m. on December 29th. As for Beekmantown, they will take on Hadley Luzerne at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hadley Luzerne comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
