In what's become a running theme this season, the Wilmington Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 60-39 margin over Peotone. Winning may never get old, but Wilmington sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Wilmington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Kettman led the charge by scoring 13 points along with two steals. Kettman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Reid Juster, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Wilmington pushed their record up to 18-7 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Peotone, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-17.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilmington will square off against Streator at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wilmington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. Peotone is on the road again on Monday and plays Herscher at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th.
