Rio Hondo won the last time they faced La Villa and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Rio Hondo Bobcats put the hurt on the La Villa Cardinals with a sharp 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won ten contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Christopher Galvan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted over his last eight games.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nathan Ortega, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. Another player making a difference was Aidyn Flores, who got on base in five of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Rio Hondo's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for La Villa, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Rio Hondo Bobcats duke it out with Valley View Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley View will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Rio Hondo surely won't give up without a fight. As for La Villa, they will welcome Marine Military Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Villa has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
