The Frederick Golden Eagles stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Fort Morgan, posting a 57-20 win on the road. With that win, Frederick brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.
Frederick's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josie Stanton led the charge by scoring 16 points along with three steals. Gabby Jima was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Fort Morgan's loss came despite strong showings from Yelena Ramirez and Charlotte Marquez. Ramirez scored four points, while Marquez scored no points.
Frederick's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Fort Morgan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frederick will take on the Grizzlies at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northridge will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
