After losing to the Legacy Lightning the last time they met, the Fossil Ridge SaberCats decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Everything went Fossil Ridge's way against Legacy on Saturday as Fossil Ridge made off with a 60-36 win.
Natalie Lin was nothing short of spectacular: she scored 22 points along with six assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Smith, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Legacy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Olivia Mortensen. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 61.1% of Legacy's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Izabella Milner, who scored five points along with two steals.
Fossil Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Legacy, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Fossil Ridge will head out on the road to challenge Mountain Range at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fossil Ridge is facing Mountain Range at the right time seeing as Mountain Range is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Legacy, they will head out on the road to take on Poudre at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Poudre is coming into the match with four straight victories at home, so Legacy is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
