Hillcrest is 7-1 against Tooele since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hillcrest Huskies will be playing at home against the Tooele Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Hillcrest came up short against Cottonwood and fell 59-51. Hillcrest has struggled against Cottonwood recently, as their game on Wednesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Tooele's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell just short of Murray by a score of 75-73. The losing side was boosted by Ethan B rogers, who almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 43.8% of Tooele's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillon Polson, who scored 19 points.
Even though they lost, Tooele were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. This was only their 12th loss (out of 16 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Hillcrest has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Tooele, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
Hillcrest beat Tooele 54-47 when the teams last played back in January. Does Hillcrest have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tooele turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
