After flying high against the Akron-Fairgrove Vikings on Tuesday, the Reese Rockets came back down to earth. Reese suffered a rough 79-57 loss at the hands of Powers Catholic on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Javontae Ross had an outrageously good game for Powers Catholic as he scored 26 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals. Another player making a difference was Connor Kelly, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Reese's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Powers Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Reese will head out on the road to face off against Harbor Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Powers Catholic, they will face off against Schoolcraft at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
