The Central Valley Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Linden Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Central Valley will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Ripon, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Central Valley was the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Ripon on Friday.
Chris Garcia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Edgar Peralta was incredible, scoring four runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Mason Whitworth, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Linden challenged Weston Ranch on Friday. Linden's pitchers stepped up to hand Weston Ranch a 10-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.
Like Central Valley, Linden also got a great game from a two-way player: Justin Sales. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Sales was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dax Weber, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Brody Black was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Central Valley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Linden, their record is now 2-0.
Central Valley took their win against Linden in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Valley since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
