Atlantic will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Creston/Orient-Macksburg . Atlantic have the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency.
Atlantic had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Saydel 45-6. The margin was wide but not a surprise since Atlantic are ranked far ahead of Saydel in the MaxPreps rankings.
Meanwhile, Creston/Orient-Macksburg couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had victory within their grasp but couldn't quite capture it last week as the team lost 34-35 to Chariton.
Atlantic's win lifted them to 1-0 while Creston/Orient-Macksburg's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Atlantic can add another positive mark to their record or if Creston/Orient-Macksburg can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Atlantic's step.
