Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Sheldon Huskies

For the second straight game, Franklin will face off against Sheldon. Franklin will be playing at home against Sheldon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Franklin has four straight wins, Sheldon has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Franklin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over Sheldon on Monday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Chance Moore was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Moore was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other pitching news, Dylan Wood looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Dylan Minnatee was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Edgar Garcia was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Franklin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sheldon struck out 11 times.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Sheldon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
