It was another big night for Reese Messer, who scored 32 points along with seven rebounds and six steals for St. James Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Messer has scored all season. Riley Kerwin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Blue Valley West dropped their record down to 4-3 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for St. James Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Blue Valley West will look to defend their home court on Friday against Blue Valley Northwest at 5:30 p.m. Blue Valley West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Blue Valley Northwest is ranked eighth). As for St. James Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Saint Thomas Aquinas at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. James Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
