The Calvary Christian Spartans will be playing at home against the Christian Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Calvary Christian will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Calvary Christian's game on Monday was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hardin Northern. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Calvary Christian in their matchups with Hardin Northern: they've now lost three in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Philip Davie, who scored 17 points along with five assists. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeeke Wylie, who scored 12 points.
Calvary Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Dominion Academy 76-41. Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-13.
Calvary Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2. As for Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Everything came up roses for Calvary Christian against Christian Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2020 as the squad secured a 57-11 victory. Will Calvary Christian repeat their success, or does Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
