Penney extended the longest winning streak in KCI this week by beating Albany, 60-22. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
Penney led the league in scoring this week after putting up 60 points on the Warriors. Drew Finch threw for 48 yards and one touchdown in the win.
Mid-Buchanan's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dalton Robinson threw for 126 and one touchdown and Colton Hoffman had 59 yards receiving. On the ground Jimmy Scott chipped in 104 yards. Alec Bullimore helped Mid-Buchanan's passing attack out by catching three balls for 35 yards.
Tyler Hampton made the biggest impact on defense this week as Dave Fairchild's team topped Albany. The 5-foot-10 senior pulled down one interception.
On the ground, the Hornets' Derrick Hughes has rushed for 1378 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kellen Overstreet. The Penney star has 10 catches for 370 yards.
A big matchup in KCI this week will be when Lathrop takes on Lawson. The Mules are in second place, while the Cardinals are in third place.
