Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gibbs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lakeyia Thompson, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 14 points and three steals. Iloa James was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Boca Ciega saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kamariyah Allen posted 16 points and three steals. That was a full 53.3% of Boca Ciega's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maria Ciro, who put up six points.
