Adding to the longest winning streak in 4A Region I District 6 this week, Dunbar beat North Side 70-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Wildcats.
Boswell scaled the state rankings by moving to 404 from 440 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Pioneers were able to move up by beating Eastern Hills 49-19.
Saginaw's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. John Polston threw for 260 and 3 touchdowns and Jaylen King had 121 yards receiving. On the ground Polston chipped in 94 yards. Austin Wright helped Saginaw's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 67 yards.
The Rough Riders' dynamic duo of Polston and King proved tough for Poly to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wright helped Saginaw's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 67 yards.
He went 16-25 with 1 interception.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Wright. The Saginaw star has 30 catches for 535 yards.
Next week's game between Boswell and Saginaw will feature an aerial matchup as Drew Bicknell tests his arm against Jared Rivas's defensive ability. For the year, John Abendschan's team's Bicknell has managed 1,090 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Rivas has 4 interceptions for Mike Peters' team.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Pioneers and the Rough Riders face off next week.
The Highlanders are currently in fifth, while Dunbar is in first.
The Steers lost to Todd Lawson's team 70-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
