Baseball Recap: Fort Hill Has No Trouble Against Berkeley Springs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Hill). They put the hurt on the Berkeley Springs Indians with a sharp 12-5 win on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Jake Rice was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bobby Brauer, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

Rice wasn't the only one making solid contact: Fort Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Fort Hill's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Berkeley Springs, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Fort Hill wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-3 victory against Northern Garrett on the 4th. As for Berkeley Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-5 defeat against Musselman on the 3rd.
