Hempfield celebrates its TOC recognition.

Winter Storm Nika may have postponed our presentation by one day but it was well worth the wait inside the warm environment at
Hempfield (Landisville, Pa.) on Feb. 6. The fourth-annual MaxPreps Volleyball Tour of Champions presented by the National Guard was on hand to present the Hempfield girls volleyball team with the National Guard national ranking trophy for its amazing accomplishments on the court.
The trophy cases outside the gym were lined with volleyball trophies signifying years of dominance in the area. The Hempfield Black Knights finished the season ranked at an amazing No. 23 in the country by MaxPreps. Our presentation took place during the final home game of the boys basketball season, a pivotal matchup with rival McCaskey High School.
The atmosphere was ripe for the competition and our presentation.
Head coach Gary Dimm was humbled by this national honor and said the dedication that the girls showed throughout the season was the reason we were there last night for the presentation. The presentation was made by SSG Deanna Haldeman of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, who proudly presented the Minuteman Trophy and the rafter banner to the team. WGAL was on site to capture the moment and the players, who were also wearing their championship medals.
Our presentation happened to coincide with National Signing Day in Pennsylvania and every senior on the team will be playing volleyball next year in college. Thanks again to Hempfield High School for a warm welcome on an icy night — it was a great event!
