Wyatt Gustafson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Teegan Cole was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Jordan, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
Windsor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Poudre only posted a batting average of .231.
Meanwhile, Fossil Ridge waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Grizzlies get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The SaberCats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
Vedant Sharma looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Luc Gaca-Thiele was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Mason Griffin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.
Windsor's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Fossil Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Windsor has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fossil Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
