West Sierra recap September 10, 2013
Edgar Segura of Mendota ran for the longest rushing play in West Sierra this season against Caruthers last week. Segura's team beat the Blue Raiders as he sprinted for 88 yards on the play and finished with 219 in all.
Avenal was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to third in the league. The Buccaneers vanquished Sierra Pacific 28-13 earlier in the week.
Firebaugh's dynamic duo of Josh Allen and Jordan Martinez proved tough for Fowler to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Allen threw for 329 yards and 3 touchdowns and Martinez had 132 yards receiving. Cristian Patlan helped Firebaugh's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 94 yards.
The Eagles' dynamic duo of Allen and Martinez proved to be unstoppable against the Redcats, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Segura was a force in the backfield as Mendota defeated Caruthers.
Martinez was the best wideout in the league this week as Firebaugh topped Fowler.
Segura was the best running back in West Sierra this week. Julio Lainez also contributed to the rushing game with 86 yards on the ground.
Anthony Argueta was a key player and the best on defense this week as william magnusson's team bested Steve Nelson's team. The 5-foot-9 senior.

Allen put up the best numbers in passing as the Eagles beat the Redcats.

The Eagles moved up to 554 from 683 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Firebaugh was able to make move up by defeating Fowler 36-18.
