Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Dimond's Winning Streak

After a string of nine wins, Dimond's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the South Anchorage Wolverines. The shutout was out of character for the Lynx seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

While Dimond ultimately came up short, they really made South Anchorage work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 26-24.

When it comes to explaining why Dimond lost, don't look at Elena Snow. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs.

Miley Monahan was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 11 digs. That's the most digs she has posted since back in November of 2024.

Dimond's loss dropped their record down to 26-10-1. As for South Anchorage, they are on a roll lately: they've won 24 of their last 25 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-3-1 record this season.

Dimond has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Chugiak on the 25th. Hopefully South Anchorage paid attention to the Lynx's matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Lynx at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
