The Clinton Prairie Gophers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 73-61 victory over Frontier. Winning may never get old, but Clinton Prairie sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Clinton Prairie can attribute much of their success to Abbey Swan, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Emma Nash, who scored six points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Frontier still got an impressive performance from Madyson Mears, who scored three points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Mears hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabi Noe, who scored seven points.
Clinton Prairie is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-16 record this season. As for Frontier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-15.
Clinton Prairie will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Covington at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Covington is ranked 321st, while Clinton Prairie is ranked 300th). As for Frontier, they will head out on the road to take on North White at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully North White focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 two weeks ago.
