There's no place like home for the Innovation Montessori Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They breezed by Brevard HEAT at home to the tune of 60-30. That 30 points margin sets a new team best for Innovation Montessori this season.
Innovation Montessori can attribute much of their success to Shalom Barnes, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barnes has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Pedro Anselmo, who scored 15 points.
Innovation Montessori's win bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Brevard HEAT, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Innovation Montessori won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Apopka Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Apopka Christian Academy is ranked 796th, while Innovation Montessori is ranked 789th). As for Brevard HEAT, they will head out on the road to square off against Florida Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Florida Prep is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
