Nampa is 2-7 against Bishop Kelly since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Tuesday, Nampa beat Caldwell 12-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Konnor Rae looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Nampa is 2-1 when Rae allows one or fewer hits, but 7-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Nampa let Jaxon Wade and Nathan Kessinger run wild. Wade went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run, while Kessinger went 1-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Kessinger has become a key player for Nampa: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise. Carter Smalley also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Vallivue typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Bishop Kelly proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Falcons. Considering the Knights have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Luca Quilici made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ayden Boyd and Zach Wright did most of the damage at the plate: Boyd went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Wright went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Wright has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Brady, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Bishop Kelly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive matches.
Bishop Kelly is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Nampa, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-11.
Nampa took their win against Bishop Kelly when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 12-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
