Gordonsville is a perfect 3-0 against Whitwell since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Gordonsville is taking a road trip to face off against Whitwell at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Gordonsville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Jo Byrns get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won three in a row.
Colton Bennett and J. Foster made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Bennett struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Foster kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Bennett has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. At bat, Bennett went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, while Foster got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Whitwell waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 6-0 victory. Give the Tigers' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Gordonsville pushed their record up to 19-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Whitwell, their record is now 21-10-1.
Whitwell's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Gordonsville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .356. It's a different story for Whitwell, though, as they've only averaged .256. Will they be able to contain Gordonsville's hitters?
Gordonsville took their win against Whitwell in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gordonsville since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
