Wetumpka had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.9 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 72-56 win over the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Wetumpka's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tom Suddith led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 29 boards. Suddith has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more boards the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nolan Fitch, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 20 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Wetumpka smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive contests.

Wetumpka's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Stanhope Elmore, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
