The Righetti Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 76-62 to Burroughs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (58), Righetti still had to take the loss.
Burroughs was led to victory by Jagger Topp and Omar Payind. Topp scored 19 points along with six steals and five assists, while Payind dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. Landon Everhart was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Righetti's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-12. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Burroughs, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Coincidentally, Righetti and Burroughs will both be playing Santa Paula the next time they take the court. Righetti will head out to face Santa Paula at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Burroughs will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
