The McAlester Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight defeat. They fell 63-52 to Will Rogers College. The result was an unpleasant reminder to McAlester of the 62-55 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Will Rogers College found their leader in underclassman Branden Crosslen, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crosslen has scored all season. Nehemiah Rhodes was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
McAlester's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-16. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Will Rogers College, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-13 record this season.
McAlester will be playing at home against Holland Hall at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Will Rogers College, they will head out on the road to face off against Coweta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Will Rogers College focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
