The biggest upset of the week belonged to Liberty Hill, who took down 134th ranked Liberty Hill, 32-18.
Gatesville extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region I District 8 this week by beating Burnet, 44-19. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Hornets.
The Panthers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Wells threw for 20 yards and Joseph Dudgeon had 13 yards receiving. On the ground Cory Ferrell chipped in 71 yards.
Liberty Hill's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wells has thrown for 167 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Dudgeon has four catches for 67 yards. Jesse Perez leads the league in rushing with 830 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Llano takes on Gatesville. At the moment, the Yellowjackets are in sixth, while the Hornets are in first.
Brownwood moved up to 189 from 243 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region I District 8. The Lions climbed the ranks as a result of besting Liberty Hill 32-18.
