The Sequoia Pathway Academy Pumas lost against the Horizon Honors Eagles back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Sequoia Pathway Academy was dealt a 64-12 loss at the hands of Horizon Honors. Sequoia Pathway Academy has not had much luck with Horizon Honors recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Horizon Honors' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josie Barden, who scored 15 points. Audriana Anglada was another key contributor, scoring four points along with ten rebounds and seven assists.
Sequoia Pathway Academy's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.7 points per game. As for Horizon Honors, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sequoia Pathway Academy will take on St. Augustine Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Augustine Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Horizon Honors is on the road again on Monday and play against Chandler Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 8th. Chandler Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
