The Owyhee Storm will take on the Skyview Hawks in a tournament on Saturday. Owyhee will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Skyview's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Owyhee hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. Owyhee's pitcher stepped up to hand Lake City a 15-0 shutout on Friday. The Storm might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.
Owyhee got a great performance from Hailey Brennan as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Brennan has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elysa Gaytan, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenna Schab, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Owyhee lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in nine consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Skyview got the win against Teton on Friday by a conclusive 12-2.
Sophie Carngella made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those RBI were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Ella McMullen was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Lilly Bittinger was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
Owyhee's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.the team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team won's by an average of 9.5 runs thus far As for Skyview, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Owyhee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .429. However, it's not like Skyview struggles in that department as they've averaged .406. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Owyhee was able to grind out a solid victory over Skyview in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, winning 11-6. Will Owyhee repeat their success, or does Skyview has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
