Mason Ballard posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long.

Ballard's strong effort led St. Joseph over Dominican and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers are a perfect 9-0 against the Knights going back to June of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
