Last Tuesday, Hawthorne really took it to The Rock for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-42 victory at home. With Hawthorne ahead 38-17 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Jhalea Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Zakena Ealy was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Forest was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Lake Weir 66-19 on the road. That looming 66-19 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Forest yet this season.
Forest found their leader in underclassman Jessica Colon, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Colon also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taleah Jones, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Hawthorne's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Forest, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
