Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Smithson Valley Rangers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against the Bearcats on Friday, falling 51-8. Smithson Valley's defeat signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.
Hawk Patrick-Daniels was on fire for Aledo: he rushed for 184 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. Those three rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Hauss Hejny, who threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes.
Smithson Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Aledo, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.
