The Hanahan Hawks's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They secured a 45-40 W over Colleton County. The victory was just what Hanahan needed coming off of a 53-19 loss in their prior match.
Hanahan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camdyn Lawson, who scored 13 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lawson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was N'khia Hagood, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Colleton County's loss came despite strong showings from Heaven Green and Akeelyah Daniel. Green scored 11 points along with six steals, while Daniel scored ten points along with three steals.
Colleton County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hanahan pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
Hanahan's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Colleton County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanahan will take on North Charleston at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Taja Porcher and Jaylah Hughes. Colleton County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on May River at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. May River presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Colleton County in South Carolina (May River is ranked 95th, while Colleton County is ranked 216th).
